My wife’s grandfather, Shmuel Yitzhak Shechter, was an amazing character. Chesed, chesed and more chesed. He ran around looking for people to help. When their youngest son went into the army they opened up their house to foster care, taking in kids with no where to go and giving them tons of love. It always an honor to memorialize someone who has passed away, I think of it as a privilege to be part of remembrance. May his life be a example to us all.
